Rome Olympic Stadium

The largest sports facility of Rome is currently the Olympic Stadium. Built in the Foro Italico complex in 1932 under the name “Stadium of Cypresses”. It was restored in the 50’s and renamed “100.000 Stadium” to take the final name of “Olympic Stadium” at the Rome Olympics in 1960. The stadium underwent a major restructuring during the World Cup in 1990. Comprises mainly soccer events and athletic, but also concerts, musical events and theatrical performances. In summer its immediate surroundings are used by the City for the Roman Summer Festival. The proximity to the Balduina district in Rome makes the B & B Sapore di Casa a great starting point for those who want to stay not far from the Olympic Stadium.
